Students Currently Graduating from FHS:
The Fennimore Community Scholarship Foundation presents scholarships to graduating students at Fennimore WI High School. The students receive the application for scholarships in January. The applications must be submitted by March 1st. The foundation hopes all graduates who are planning to continue their formal education beyond high school will apply.
Scholarship applications are due no later than 11:59 p.m. on March 1st.

Please note that additional supporting documents are required with the application:
- Essay – A typed essay of no fewer than 500 words introducing your goals, sharing your expectations, defining your vision and personal accomplishments, and explaining your chosen field of study. Include any financial hardships or considerations that may impact your higher education. Describe why you consider yourself to be a good citizen and have high moral values. What makes you unique?
- Students whose GPA is below 2.5 must submit two (2) Letters of Recommendation from Fennimore Community Schools faculty.
- Your official Fennimore High School grade transcript and Activities List (provided by the school district).
- Signed consent forms completed by applicant and parents. Parent signatures are only needed for students under 18 as of March 1st.
Graduating FHS Students – Available Scholarships:
Donor and General Scholarships: This is a list of all the Donor and General Scholarships offered to all qualifying Fennimore High School Seniors. The applicant does not need to do anything extra to apply for these.
Elizabeth Cretney Brandemuehl Memorial Music Scholarship
One $750 award. Criteria: An outstanding music student with plans of a 4 year music major, if no music major, an outstanding music student with plans of a 4 year major.
Erna L. Briel Memorial Scholarship
One $400 award. Criteria: Primary: Applicant must be pursuing a degree in math education or physical Science education at a college. Secondary: Applicant must be pursuing a degree in math or science.
Pastor “Bud” William Budzinski Memorial Scholarship
Two $500 awards. Criteria: Applicants must demonstrate good citizenship, volunteer in the community, have high moral values and participate in athletics during their high school career.
Marian K. and Leonard Carl Memorial Scholarship
Two $750 awards. Criteria: No stipulations.
Richard J. Casper Memorial Scholarship 1
One $1500 per year, up to 4 years. Criteria: Primary: Applicant is studying engineering at the collegiate level. Secondary: Applicant is majoring in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) in college. This is a four-year scholarship if the applicant continues to qualify.
Richard J. Casper Memorial Scholarship 2
One $1000 per year, up to 4 years. Criteria: Applicant is pursuing a 4 year degree. This is a four-year scholarship if the applicant continues to qualify.
Clare Bank Scholarship
One $500 award. Criteria: Clare Bank provides Foundation a list of customer names, and then Foundation chooses recipients.
Ronald K. Conley Memorial Scholarship
One $400 award. Criteria: Applicant is pursuing a degree in ag mechanics (preferred) or in the field of agriculture.
LaVern Croft Memorial Scholarship
Two $750 awards. Criteria: Applicant is planning a career in agriculture, agriculture business or business. Rank in high school class of 11th or below.
Doeringsfield/Brechler Memorial Scholarship
One award. Year 1 & 2-$3500, Year 3 & 4-$3000. Criteria: Applicants must be pursuing a 4 year degree and have a minimum 2.5 GPA in high school. This is a four year scholarship if the applicant continues to qualify. This scholarship is only awarded every three or four years depending on interest rates and fund balance. The scholarship was last awarded in 2024.
Allen L. Eck Memorial Scholarship
Three $1000 awards. Criteria: No stipulations.
Engineering Alumni Scholarship
One $1000 award. Criteria: Applicant must be attending UW-Platteville and enrolling in the Engineering Department.
Fennimore Vocational Agriculture Scholarship
One $1000 award. Criteria: Applicant must be majoring in Agriculture at a technical college, 4-year university, or short course. They must have enrolled in at least 3 years of high school agriculture classes, including applicants’ senior year.
Dennis and Trudie Freymiller Memorial Scholarship
One $500 award. Criteria: Applicants must have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA (GPA of 3.0 preferred). Enrolling at a technical or community college or a 4-year university. Majoring in Science, Mathematics or Agriculture.
Bonnie Gene Gift Memorial Education Scholarship
One $1000 award. Criteria: Applicant must be attending UW–Platteville in the coming academic year pursuing a degree in Elementary Education.
Bonnie Gene Gift Memorial Scholarship
One $1000 award. Criteria: Applicants must be attending UW–Platteville in the coming academic year.
Stephanie Giesen and Tilah Page Memorial Scholarship
Two $400 awards. Criteria: Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and have been involved in athletics during high school.
P. J. Grimme Memorial Scholarship
One $500 award. Criteria: Applicant must have been a sports manager for at least two years, preferably for four years.
Donita Hammond Memorial Scholarship
One $400 award. Criteria: Applicants must be involved in one activity for at least two years.
Larry and Carol Jeidy Scholarship
One $750 award. Criteria: Applicants must demonstrate good citizenship, volunteer in the community and have high moral values.
John and Rose Kalile Memorial Scholarship
Two $1000 awards. Criteria: Applicants must be within the top 20% of ranking for the class.
Marguerite Kalile Memorial Scholarship
One $1000 award. Criteria: Applicant is the last person in the upper 1/4 of class in good standing.
Kathryn Kenney Education Scholarship
One $2500 award. Criteria: Applicants must plan to attend a four-year, in-state institution pursuing a degree in Education. Preference will be given to a student who has a parent working as a Teacher, Teacher Aid, or School Administrator in the Fennimore School District. Next preference for a parent working in the same roles in another school district.
H. D. Koenecke Memorial Scholarship
One $750 award. Criteria: Applicants must be pursuing a business degree and enrolled at a technical college, college, or university.
L.D. Kolar Memorial Scholarship
One $400 award. Criteria: No selection criteria.
Derek Lendosky Memorial Scholarship
One $750 award, Two $500 awards. Criteria: The intent of the scholarship is to reward a graduating senior who has excelled in their education, has participated in sports, and has helped others by volunteering or paying it forward.
Ralph and Ima Levrud Memorial Scholarship
One $400 award. Criteria: No stipulations.
Ken Lewis Memorial Scholarship
One $500 award. Criteria: Applicants must plan to attend Southwest Tech in any of the trades programs.
Maroon and Gold Athletic Club Scholarship
Two $500 awards. Criteria: Must be in sports all 4 years and demonstrate community involvement.
Albert Maso Memorial Scholarship
One $750 award. Criteria: No stipulations.
Nelda McKinley Memorial Scholarship
One $400 award. Criteria: Preference is given to an applicant entering the nursing profession first and other health related professions second.
MidWest One Bank Scholarship
One $500 award. Criteria: Applicants will be attending a four-year college/university and planning to major in finance, accounting, business or ag business.
Kenneth and Mildred Miller Family Memorial Scholarship
$2,000 each year for 4 years for a total of $8,000. Criteria: Preference is given to an applicant living on a farm and involved in the farming operation. Applicants must be of sound character. This is a four-year scholarship if the applicant continues to qualify.
Music Boosters Club – Fennimore
One $500 award. Criteria: Primary: Student studying music in college. Secondary: Student that will be in a music performing group in college. Tertiary: Student was outstanding in FHS music Department.
Optimist Club – Fennimore
One $250 award. Criteria: No stipulations.
Plattner Memorial Scholarship Award
One $500 award. Criteria: Applicants must be a good citizen, volunteer in the community, and attend a school in the University of Wisconsin system or Southwest Wisconsin Technical College.
Ernell F. Roethe Memorial Scholarship
Three $1000 awards. Criteria: No stipulations.
Sheri Rossing Memorial Scholarship
One $1000 award. Criteria: Applicants must be female and have outstanding athletic achievements and accomplishments.
Soaring Eagle Scholarship
Up to $750 award. Criteria: Awarded to applicants to ensure all FHS graduates that are continuing their post-secondary education receive a scholarship award.
Soman Family Scholarship
One $300 award. Criteria: No stipulations.
Southwest Wisconsin Tractor Ride Scholarship
One $300 award. Criteria: Applicant must be pursuing a degree in an agriculture related field.
Jim and Laurie Whitish Scholarship
One $500 award. Criteria: Applicant must demonstrate good citizenship, volunteer in community and have high moral values.
